Columbus Engagement - Melissa & Brandon

The unexpected can be a good thing.  Today, we were faced with shooting in the rain or doing the shoot early, in the morning sunshine.  So I called Melissa and asked if she would mind meeting us in the am.  She was pleased because that would mean that they would not have to miss the Ohio State football game.  I mused that Randy is trying to turn me into a fan and that he took me to the Miami game(yes....I did have a great time!)............but I did tell Melissa that you don't need to bring your rain poncho to a hockey game!  She insisted that they needed to work on my Ohio State fandom!  So she and her handsome man showed up with Ohio State apparel and they looked soooo cute in it!!   Melissa was lovely, and she proudly declared that the secret to her gorgeous skin was moisturizer and staying out of the sun. Her bubbly personality made me smile.

Unexpected was the way to describe Melissa's first encounter with her dashing fiance.  They met for the first time at work;  and when Melissa called her mother to describe this incredible guy, her mom exclaimed "This is why you moved to Ohio!".  Unexpected can be a good thing!  Not only is Brandon a romantic guy who surprised Melissa with a proposal at a fancy restaurant in Vegas......He is exceptionally smart and well rounded.  Talk about it,  and he has done it......everything from cranking out the tunes as a wedding DJ to dealing with "legalese" as a lawyer..........and even though he is so talented.....he has no pretentiousness and he has this gentle presence that is very comfortable.  And yes,  Melissa glowed with love for her prince.  We were thrilled to meet this sweet couple at Old Man's Caves in Hocking Hills for their engagement session.  We are sure that their nuptials next summer at the very luxurious Nemacolin Woodlands Resort will be a dream wedding and that any "unexpected" circumstances will turn out to be the best thing ever!!

Oh, and Melissa.....it was very unexpected....but I was actually totally into the football game today! Thanks for giving us the honor of documenting your love!
