They both worked at the annual Toronto Film Festival, where they would catch glimpses of each other. And then they would not see each other for another year. But then, in 2006 they made sure that they saw more of each other and their love affair ignited. By 2007, Kate was leaving LA to be with Mark in Toronto where he is a renowned film writer. Kate shared Mark's passion, as she too is a film writer for the Toronto Film Festival. These two were a perfect fit. And on their wedding day, the love that they had for each other was such a joy! At one point in the night, I was alone with them on the stairway and I had to tell them that I was having soooo much fun shooting this wedding because they were sooooo in love. They were so absorbed in each other and unruffled by anything else. It really is a high honor to be in the midst of such wholehearted affection, and get to capture those moments of joy.
Kate's favorite colors in her tastefully appointed home were green and brown and she used these colors for the wedding. A year ahead of the fashion rage, she used green and blue peacock feathers in her flowers. They chose to see each other for the first time before the ceremony, at the Elgin Theater where their romance had begun. It was a splendid idea. Mark was totally enchanted as he saw his bride for the first time that day, and his reactions were not stifled because they were alone(well almost--we were there enjoying every second as we recorded it forever!!). Congratulations guys, and may you have a lifetime of wedded bliss!!
