Cruising!!

Fernanda and Gabriel were great travel mates! We all weathered the rain, as you can see in the photo of the car above. And we had to laugh because the sun came out just as we had to get back on the boat for departure!!

If you are going to spend money on a hotel for a week to be together, why not make it a hotel somewhere in the south??  That was what we decided, and we took a cruise in March.  We got to venture to St. Marten, Dominica, Venezuela, and Aruba.  We love Aruba the most.  But maybe the best part of our trip was the friends that we made on the cruise. On our day in Venezuela, we paired up with a newlywed couple and rented a taxi for the afternoon.  The taxi was something that reminded me of the show "Pimp my ride", only done on an extreme budget!!  Fernanda could speak spanish, and she became our translator with our cab driver.  She also had to translate a lot back to her husband, because their mother tongue is portuguese as they are from Brazil. We ended up hanging out with them after our cab ride, and sunning by the pool together.  And the guys challenged each other to a dual of rock climbing on the back of the ship.  Sorry Gabriel.....maybe you will win on a rematch??  We hope to one day see them again.  It is fun to have friends all over the world.
