It was a screaming hot day when I was invited to shoot a coworker's son as he participated in this grueling competition. The event was held in a parking lot under the scorching midday sun. The firefighters had to wear all of their gear including a heavy oxygen tank. They had to run up several flights of stairs carrying a heavy hose, come back down, chop something apart with a heavy axe and carry Dexter(the dummy) back to the end of the parking lot. I did photograph one guy as he passed out from the heat, but for his sake I won't share those! Several paramedics accompanied each man as he did all the drills.......although these guys won't have paramedics watching over them when it comes time to do the real thing!! Nice job guys! Moncton should be proud of the strong guys at the station on duty!
