Graduating Girlfriends

I had the pleasure of meeting Brittany and her parents at a graduation party that we were shooting last year. And this year, it was Brittany's turn to stand in the spot light as her family and friends celebrated her achievements and wished her well as she steps out into her new life as a young adult.  We did not realize until we arrived, that Brittany was sharing this big day and all it's attention with her long time neighbor and good friend, Maddi.  These two gals were buddies, and their moms worked together to pull off a wonderful  outdoor event.   We enjoyed both of these beautiful graduates.  Brittany was lovely, glowing with a radiance that comes from a heart that is so happy.  We think that may have had less to do with graduating, and more to do with the upcoming reunion she was about to have with a boy she had known as a child, her sweetheart.  Brittany is a firm believer in just being herself no matter what,  and that confidence  was shining in her that day.  Maddi's personality was warm and she had a smile that would light up a room.  She likes Ralph Lauren's words: Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's learning to dance in the rain.  And Maddi seems to have a dancing spirit, boots and all!  Watching these two gals step aside to share some top secret personal info,  reminded me of my relationship with my best friend, Mel.  It has been a lot of years since I graduated from high school and I even moved out west for 14 years.  But despite time and distance, my BFF from high school has remained my closest friend, my partner in crime, my go to gal when I needed a shoulder to cry on, my biggest cheer leader and favorite hang out friend.  Once again, we are separated by distance; but the weekly phone visits keep us close.   Maddi and Brittany,  as you each head off to university,  I hope that you can continue to be each other's fan and supporter.  Randy and I wish you all the best in this great big world.  Thanks so much for allowing us a sneak peek into your lives as you celebrated being grads of 2010!!  Here are some of the images from your event. Enjoy!
